Wedding Wednesday

[Images are from marthastewart.com][Image from Rainsend]
I've been trying to decide on a loose theme for our wedding. I wanted to find a concept that would tie everything together and that was sentimental - but not over the top..so I have chosen a bird's nest theme. I sort of landed on this idea when I found the perfect wedding cake topper on etsy...more to come on this!

Spring Sky

A few more spring polaroids to share. . .

Rally time.

Now that the primaries are approaching in NC and the Democratic Presidential race is getting tight, we have been receiving visits from the candidates. I had the opportunity to attend my first major political rally last night and although I had to endure 6 hours of standing, I got some unforgettable shots of Senator Barack Obama.

Merlefest

I am headed back to my hometown this weekend for a little festival we call "Merlefest." It is going to be a little more exciting this year because this is where we are having our wedding in the fall. (Oh and I can't forget my favorite bluegrass band "The Avett Brothers" are playing tonight...so excited!!) I am having an unplugged weekend so I look forward to seeing you next week :)

Poof

Here are a few lovely photos from Anne Kristoff which can be found in her etsy store. I am a sucker for tutu's and couldn't help but share these dreamy costume photos.

House-Lust

Well, Whitney is still nursing sore wrists and has asked me - "the fiance" - to take over the blog for a day. I'm taking over the BLOG!! Maybe I'll change the name to Darling Dustin...the current blog title makes it seem as though our dog Dexter is higher on the totem pole than me...I guess maybe he is.

Anyways, I just finished a good read called House: A Memoir by Michael Ruhlman. The book is about the renovation of a 100 year old home by the author in his hometown of Cleveland. More importantly, its about the meaning of a home, belonging, and togetherness in this modern world. So lately, I have had a little house-lust...dreaming of bungalows and cold lemonade on a big front porch in the summer....

Flickr Group: Good Paper Goods

I have been in a paper mood lately considering the amount of invitations I have been creating for family and friends. So...this week I drew inspiration from the Flickr group "Good Paper Goods."

Sunday Afternoon: Amelie

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than by breaking out "Amelie" and relaxing on the couch. I love this movie, the color is so rich and the plot is darling. If you are one of the last few people on Earth who have yet to see it, I recommend you drop what you are doing right now and go out and rent it..or put it on your netflix cue :)

Spring Polaroids

If you haven't noticed yet, I have been posting at a bare minimum this week. My graphic design day-job has caused my wrist to ache (eek!) so I have been trying to minimize any extra computer activity. But, I thought I would share with you a few spring polaroids I took outside last week while the weather was pleasant...we're up to 78 degrees today in NC, so there may be more where that came from :-)

Wedding Wednesday

I have finally decided on fabric for my bridesmaid dresses! And..I am going with a different pattern for each dress..sounds busy I know, but the dress has an empire waist and in order to keep the look cohesive, the top portion of each dress will be the same...a nice cream fabric. As soon as we actually start making them I will post more details, but for now I am just excited that we have the fabric :)

Flickr Group: Fresh New Spaces

I've been in a decorating mood lately so it should come as no surprise that the flickr group I am highlighting this week is all about interior spaces. Check it out, "Fresh New Spaces."

I apologize..

..for being in a clothes-posting mood lately. With the change of season, I can't help it! Especially when I casually roll over to Anthro and see this image pop up in my face.

Office Re-Do

When I saw this home on apartment therapy from Jessica of How About Orange last week, I knew instantly what I needed to do to make my office space flow better. I'm the type of person that until my surroundings are cohesive, I remain in a state of frustration. So I commissioned my fiance to create a computer stand for our iMac as well as install a shelf above the desk...and the results: fabulous!

Necklines . .

A couple of necklines I am currently loving from j.crew.

Spring [cleaning] Decorating

Victoria over at sfgirlbybay mentioned it a few days ago and I would have to agree....it's time to spring decorate (not clean, decorate). I need a breath of fresh air in our little apartment so I have been searching the internet to gain inspiration. I've decided to spruce up my dining/living room and found a few resourceful photos via cottage living magazine. Oh how I would love to one day live in a little (maybe big) cottage...
So yes, a few of these photos are just me dreaming again, however, I could always draw on the color palettes :-)

Wedding Wednesday

One of my most memorable experiences this summer working for martha stewart was having the opportunity to assist with a Weddings photo shoot. Anything that has to do with invitations, jewelry, and gowns .. doesn't disappointment me :-) Along with my fellow intern, Jenny, our primary task was to create and produce the balloon banners you see hanging in this season's story, "A Return to Glamour." Though you only see one or two in the magazine, we created several of these ceiling-to-floor length banners that seemed larger than life...especially when Jenny and I had to haul them from 36th to 42nd street! So heavy and hilarious :-)
