Rosanna

I found these pieces by Rosanna to be quite nice. A little bit feminine, with a little bit of flair. Nice color palettes as well. These dishes are each created by hand, "Handcrafted in a Mexican village, each piece is individually mouth blown, hand etched and sandblasted with distinctively Rosanna patterns … modern, yet comfortingly familiar."

Naiad Soap Arts
I'm not much of a product girl...and what I mean by product is, I use the bare essentials: Shampoo, Conditioner, Bar Soap, and that's it! I usually buy the cheapest thing at the store which lasts about 2-3 months. However, when I stumbled across the soap of Naiad, I had to take a second look. Don't these look yummy!

Save Polaroid

I was browsing through my favorite blogs this morning when I saw a post on {frolic!} about "Saving the Polaroid!" If you haven't heard yet, before we know it, polaroid instant cameras/film will cease to exist :( However, there have been a few noteworthy crusades to protest this tragedy. So jump on over to Save Polaroid and join the fight!
Wedding Wednesday: Lucky Coins
I have mentioned several times that 2008 is going to be the year of weddings. I take it as a blessing that my co-worker (and previous classmate from design school) is getting married a month after me. We spend a few minutes (err..hours) a day chatting over the latest wedding drama, and recently she completed her save the dates. Yes, gocco-ed save the dates - but with an interesting twist :) She had a personalized coin created to attach to her announcement. A coin! How clever is that?! I should mention she is getting married at an old North Carolina fort on the coast, how clever is that! :)

New Gocco Prints
I found this great 1940's book about mammals in the thrift store the other day, so I decided to rip it apart and gocco on it!

Jenny Hofer Aprons
Jenny Hofer Designs has a selection of cute aprons and other accessories. I have a rather drab kitchen, so anything that helps add little life to the room, is a plus in my book.
Tea Towels
I found these clever tea towels from 5pm studio this morning on etsy. I am a sucker for embroidery and loved how playful these towels were. Oh, and check out this great mug...

Barbra Ziemer - Photography
Oh I am such a sucker for vintage camera photography...the work of Barbra Ziemer is just that. Below are three of her pieces that almost look like a watercolor painting rather than photography. She says they are "a representation of tranquility," lovely right? :)

Wedding Wednesday
So I am at the point in my wedding planning that I need to start looking for shoes in order to get the hem right on my dress. I am leaning more towards wearing a flat shoe considering we are getting married on a stage positioned on the side of a small grassy hill.

If only we could paint or even wallpaper in our little apartment! I love the prints from Walnut Wallpaper and am jealous of those of you out there who can actually brighten up your rooms with a splash of patterns. Oh well!

Wedding Wednesday

The above photos are from the talented wedding photographer we recently decided on for our special day - Martha Manning. We found Martha the good old fashion way (through the Knot), and what a relief she has been! All I wanted was someone who was experienced/talented (of course!), low key, and prepared to travel to western NC for a wedding in the middle of nowhere - oh, and someone who was not outrageous in price! It was a perfect fit!
City Guide - Raleigh
Yay! How exciting :-) I recently wrote the Raleigh, NC design guide for Design*Sponge. Grace of D*S was nice enough to allow me to contribute to her fabulous design blog so I gathered up my favorite hot spots in the triangle area (raleigh, durham, chapel hill) and wrote away!

Vintage *Finds*
While I was back in my hometown this weekend (helping my mother put the finishing touches on my wedding dress), I had the opportunity to shop some of the local antique/thrift shops. I have a thing for plates, there ... I've said it. So, to my surprise, I found a couple of interesting $.25 plates to add to my collection :-)

New Designs

I've been in super Gocco mode lately (I can't help myself, it is just too fun and easy to use). Just wanted to share what I have been cooking up. I hope to get a few more things into my etsy shop soon!

Wooded Jewels {Etsy Find}

I love the jewelry by Modica Design that I found on etsy recently. Who would have thought wood jewelry could be so nice?! I prefer smaller jewelry, and measuring in at about 0.5" the pieces above are just the right size to add a little flair!
Wedding Wednesday

We gocco-ed into the night this weekend trying to finish our save the dates...and there!...we are done! After several design iterations and gocco trial and errors, I finally figured out what would work best and what would just have to be! We were happy with the results, so I hope you enjoy :-)
We printed about 200, just in case we had any problems. Of course, we did! The extra 25-40 really helped us weed out a few that had knicks or uneven ink. We used a white linen paper with tangerine, metallic aqua, and brown inks. Oh, gocco, how I love thee...and my fiance too!

Oh, how I love this fashion campaign...Sally Scott's summer line is just too sweet and pretty to pass up.

Flickr Group: Pretty Organized
The flickr group that I am highlighting this week is one that we could all take note of: Pretty Organized :-) Check out these carefully placed yet aesthetically pleasing photos!

Productive Weekend
I have been slack with posting the past few days, and who is to blame?...Gocco! We successfully created our save the dates (more to come with that on wedding wednesday) and I was also able to have a little fun :-) I have created my first, humble, etsy store! Although it is very young and somewhat empty, I am super excited about having a presence on esty.

I have also decided to start a photography blog called "Darling Perspective." Over the past couple of months I have become interested in old camera techniques (holga, polaroid, transfers, ttv, etc..) as well as intrigued by my new digital slr, so I have posted a few experimental photographs. I use Flickr for storing my photos but I felt like keeping a blog would help me edit down my favorites. Anyways, I hope you enjoy :-)
